I have a weekly tradition of sharing breakfast with a friend — a practice I cherish for its soul-enriching and friendship-nurturing qualities. Our conversations often revolve around life, finances, and ambitions. Recently, I couldn’t help but notice a shift in my friend’s life: an increasing number of victories over setbacks. Curious, I asked if anything had changed.

His answer was simple yet profound: “My mindset changed.” He elaborated that for years, the fear of losing all his clients had been a dark cloud over his decision-making and self-confidence.

For a long time, he lived under the shadow of this fear, even questioning why he didn’t just switch to a more traditional, secure job. But then, something clicked.

The turning point was hard to define — perhaps a boost in self-esteem or a newfound self-love — but it led him to perceive potential disasters differently. What others might see as a tragedy, he started to view as the universe nudging him towards his other passions in life.

He began to see opportunities in the face of adversity — a significant mindset shift that deeply impressed me and inspired this article.
