Is there a perfect freelance client?

Why is it that my freelance friends have a ton of horror stories from horrible clients?

Is it a wild dream to actually think you can get better clients? is it the freelancer's fault for allowing the client to be a shitty client?

Most of them have 1 thing to say that has always perplexed me.
